this is a direct pay practice: what does that mean?
Anyone, with any type of insurance (commercial or Medicare) can schedule a visit with me. However, I do NOT take insurance payments for services provided. At this time, I can only accept Credit Card payments.
Why I don't take any insurance, including Medicare:
Dry eye disease and eye allergies are complicated conditions, and with today's average doctor visit lasting only about 7 minutes, it's hard to fully understand each patient's specific issues, explain the condition, or work out the best treatment plan.
I value the "patient-doctor" relationship. Therefore, I have decided to spend all my time and effort helping my patients, instead of dealing with insurance companies.
NOTE: Medicare patients will need to sign a separate private contract with me (as per CMS rules and regulations).
Unfortunately, I am unable to see Medicaid patients at this time.
